This Privacy Policy explains how Dwarkesh Motor Driving School ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information through our website, www.dwarkeshdrivingschool.com (the "Website"), and our BookMyDrive mobile application (the "App"). Dwarkesh Motor Driving School is the developer and operator of both the Website and the App, as listed on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

By using the Website or the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

When you submit an enquiry on our Website, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the course/branch/vehicle you're interested in, whether you already hold a driving licence, and any message you send us.

When you enroll as a student (either in person, by our staff, or through the App), we collect: full name, email address, mobile and WhatsApp number, residential address and pincode, gender, date of birth, occupation, driving licence number and its validity dates (if applicable), preferred vehicle/course, pickup and drop preference, class schedule, attendance records, course fees and payment amounts (we record fee and payment amounts for billing purposes; we do not collect or store card, UPI, or bank account numbers), and, where relevant, a copy of your driving test completion certificate.

When you use the App as a student, instructor, or administrator, we collect your name, email, phone number, employee ID or student enrolment ID, role, branch assignment, and your account password (stored using industry-standard encryption — we never store passwords in plain text).

Location data: on instructor and admin accounts, the App requests access to precise (GPS) and approximate location. This is used solely to verify an instructor is on-site (via connected WiFi network and/or GPS) when clocking in or out, and to record the start and end of driving lessons for attendance and safety purposes. We do not collect location data from student accounts, and location data is never used for advertising.

Automatically collected information: our Website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, time on site, general location derived from IP address, device/browser type). The App and Website also use a small number of cookies/local storage entries to keep you signed in and remember your language preference. We also collect basic technical information (app version, device type, OS version) to help diagnose bugs.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to enquiries and follow up with prospective students
  • Create and manage student, instructor, and admin accounts
  • Schedule driving lessons, track attendance, and issue completion certificates
  • Verify instructor attendance and lesson start/end via location data
  • Process and record course fees and payments
  • Communicate with you by email or phone about your enrolment, classes, or employment
  • Respond to complaints and support requests submitted through the App
  • Understand Website usage and improve our services

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

How We Store and Protect Your Information

Personal information is stored in a secured database, and uploaded documents (such as completion certificates) are stored in encrypted cloud storage (Amazon Web Services S3). Passwords are stored using one-way encryption. We use HTTPS to encrypt data sent between your device and our servers, and access to personal data within our systems is restricted to authorised staff who need it to do their jobs.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our systems, such as Amazon Web Services (hosting, file storage, and outgoing email delivery) and Google Analytics (website usage analytics) — under obligations to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us
  • Instructors and school staff, as needed to schedule and deliver your driving lessons
  • Authorities, when required by law or to protect our legal rights
  • Anyone else, only with your consent

Cookies and Analytics

Our Website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies and collects usage data to help us understand how visitors use the site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some Website functionality. The App uses local device storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to keep you signed in and remember your preferences.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide our services, maintain business and academic records, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Enquiry data for prospective students who do not enrol is retained for a reasonable follow-up period and then deleted.

Your Rights

We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe. Note that we may need to retain certain records (such as completed course certificates) where required by law or regulation.

Children's Privacy

The Website and App are intended for use by driving school students, instructors, and staff, and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a student is a minor under applicable local law, enrolment and related data collection is carried out with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
